From Northumberland England to the Scaffold of Canada. Part 1

This is another story that I was prompted to verify from a snippet from my late Aunt May, one of my dad’s sisters. When asked if she could give our daughter Kathryn some information in 1976 for a school project about the family back came a sheet of paper with some names and an arrow pointing to one name with a note under saying, this one was a bad lot, he murdered his wife in America and was put in the electric chair. 4 years later, at my dad’s funeral of all places, the story was mentioned but one of my uncles said ‘no it was Canada and he was hanged’ Over the years my late mum and my sister often asked have you found out about the murder and I said no, don’t know where to start and by the time I was interested in family history all of my aunts and uncles had died so no one to go to ask.
