  • How to Add and Resize Signatures

    Signatures can be text or image based. Please see our Terms and Conditions for guidelines on size and content.

    Image based signatures can be created via sites such as GlitterMaker, TickerFactory or Gif-mania or you can use simple pre-saved images.

    How to Add a Signature
    • Save your signature on to your computer.
    • Using your Photobucket account upload the image from your computer to Photobucket. For help using Photobucket, click here.
    • Once you have done this you can then proceed to upload the signature onto Family Tree Forum by clicking on Settings at top right of page and selecting Edit Signature in the column on left hand side of page.
    • Copy and past the [IMG] code from Photobucket into the signature text box, then select SAVE.

    How to Resize your Signature
    • Save your signature on to your Computer.
    • Using your Photobucket account upload the image from your computer to Photobucket. For help using Photobucket, click here.
    • When the image has been saved in Photobucket you should see an option edit | move | share | delete above the image.
    • Select the edit option and choose the new size either manually or selecting "tiny" on the Preset Sizes drop down listing.
    • Select either Save a copy or Replace original. Your resized image will now be stored in your Photobucket Album.

    • How to Search the Reference Library

      The Reference Library is stored in two locations. The main section is stored on the forum and accessed via the listing on the Home page. A smaller section is housed in the wiki section of the site which can be accessed via the Site Projects link on the navigation bar.

      Navigation via the Home page:
      • Clicking on the Reference Library tab on the navigation bar will take you to the Home page.
      • The Reference Library can be accessed by selecting the appropriate heading

      Go to the Photobucket website - http://photobucket.com/

      If you are not already registered click on SIGN UP and complete the registration details.

      Sign into your account and click on UPLOAD IMAGES AND VIDEOS

      Select the files from your computer that you wish to upload. Holding down the Ctrl key whilst selecting files means you can select a number at a time.

      On the next page add any titles or description as required, click SAVE ...

      Open the Family View page, click on FILE / EXPORT FILE / ENTIRE FILE

      Once you have done this, you will need to specify a destination folder for the file to be exported to, for example My Documents or Desktop.
