Legacy is a family tree program which is free to download. The basic program is suitable for everyday use although it is possible to upgrade to the deluxe version.

The United Kingdom's official government archive is located close to the River Thames in Kew, south west London. The National Archives website boasts that it holds 1000 years of history – from the Domesday Book, commissioned by William the Conqueror at Christmas 1085, to more recent government documents, as well as plenty to keep the average family historian occupied for quite some time!

- It is wise to check the IGI or links found in the UK County Index before asking for a lookup in an English/Welsh/Scottish county. If the event took place after 1st July 1837 then a certificate

You can use details for birthplace on the individual census record set search pages, found from the A-Z of Record sets, but you can only search one census at a time from those pages. -
