I should add that I know that Thomas and Harriett emigrate to the USA for 1870/1880/1890 but Elizabeth is not with them.

any extra eyes would be great thanks

      Hi Julie

Just had a quick look and couldn't find anything.

The thought that came to my mind was whether she died on the boat to America. Have you found any travel docs for the family?

        hi Lin,

no I didn't get that far... I did find Thomas/Harriet on 1870/1880 and Harriet in an index type thing in 1890 as a widow. I have also looked for a marriage but not found one yet.. there is in 1880 census a William Whitehead grandson living with them, b. 1862 [so this could be Elizabeths son, but its only a theory at the moment] but it could also be her sister Annas too. [not Sarah as she marries a James Skevington in Nottm]

edit to say it looks like he is Annies son, as in 1870 cens, there is a John/annie whitehead living next door to Thomas/Harriet

              Hi Elaine..

May/Mary might be a sister to Harriet I haven't got that far yet..lol.

Harriett Lydall m Edward Holmes.. yep I have that as these are my x2 gt grandparents... which is why I think that this 'other' Harriett is connected, there are a few Harriets that all come from Whitwick, seems to me that they could all be related..

Henry is Harrietts/Thomas's son he was born 1857 he has the middle name of Hetherington... but I have NO idea where that comes from.

I don't think that would be Elizabeth Lydia [if thats what you meant] I have noticed that there do seem to be a cluster of Hawthorn/es in Whit too, Thomas came from loughborough I think originally, but the family may have settled in whit like the Lydalls...

there seems to be abit of a gap between Sarah and Harriet, perhaps other child/ren that have died??

can you spot a marriage for William/Lydia, Elaine? I have looked but, not seeing much today...
