how can i get past the ancestry.com.au default? every time i try to go to the .co.uk or .com versions it redirects to the aus site.

I wonder if it is a cookie that is remembering the default? You could try clearing cookies & cache to see if it makes any difference.
Alternatively, once you have logged in there is a drop down box at the bottom right of page which says "visit our other sites" - you can select the co.uk site from there.

          Kyle,
I have had the same problems before and got around it by either:

googling the full address i.e. ancestry.uk or

putting the full address on a tab. Seems to work, used to drive me dotty too, i don't want AU

at all as I have no Aussie rels, they are all UK.
