Do you have the Robert Titus Smith baptised 9 Feb 1896 at St Pancras, parents Robert and Eliza - another child?
(just thinking it might help to narrow down when Robert and Eliza married)

When was their 1st child born?

You could send for one of the children's birth certificates to get Eliza's maiden name.

I'm not sure if it helps or not, but someone on my tree born in Holloway was registered in Islington district and baptised at St John Islington.

            Got him - Robert Titus M. Smith, April-June 1870, Islington vol 1b page 346

His birth cert should give his father's name - then you can use that to find his marriage from the LMA records on Ancestry.
