Irish newspapers would be your best bet for this but you can really only obtain those in Ireland or Colindale Newspaper Library at Colindale London. You could try google searching for Dublin newspapers to see if anything is online as many people have put some newspapers online. For example I can see a lot of the Cork Examiner online. Worth also looking at the Newspaper online holdings to see if any Irish newspapers are on there. Not sure what Dublin newspapers you might want but a google search might help with that one. Found the following by googling. Maybe you can find more?

      Newspapers

      • The Irish Times has a complete archive from 1859 (paying).
      • Irish Newspaper archives has the Freemans' Journal from 1763, The Irish Independent from 1905, The Irish Press from 1931 to 1995, and many twentieth-century provincial papers.
      • The Belfast News-letter is indexed from 1737 to 1800.
      • The British Newspaper Archive has The Freeman's Journal from 1820 to 1900, The Cork Examiner from 1840 to 1846 and 1923 to 1926, and The Belfast News-Letter from 1828 to 1900.

Quite a bit on Irish Newspapers here. Scroll down to Irish Independent etc:

The 19c Newspaper set includes Dublin Newspapers so your local library may allow access through the Gale site. http://gale.cengage.co.uk/product-hi...ewspapers.aspx

FindMyPast.com has the images for these as well as the transcriptions. The second pair are just the reciprocals of the first two - i.e. showing the mother/wife as the primary bit of info.

The "also known as" bit is misleading - it's really a next-of-kin. Elizabeth/Lizzie was mother/wife of the two men.

You may be able to get PAYG credits to see the images for other details, such as addresses. There are a number of other John DANIELS records, too, which look as if they could be relevant.

I think the freebie credits are only for Findmypast.co.uk and Scotlands People.
The records Christine found are on the findmypast.com site (worldwide) - they may also be on findmypast.ie (Ireland site)

You can order the film it was indexed from to your nearest FHC, but I doubt there's much more information.

I also wonder if there are any records of the court proceedings tha tmade the convictions, but I don't know where you'd begin to look for them?!
