  • RAF Records and Father info help needed please

    Hello

Can anyone help find some further information about this chap please?

Herbert Henry Wright (Mothers name Winifred)
    B 1922

D 2005 (No Image Available) Name: Herbert Henry Wright
    Birth Date: 30 Apr 1922
    Date of Registration: Mar 2005
    Age at Death: 82
    Registration district: Brentwood
    Inferred County: Essex
    Register Number: B68B
    District and Subdistrict: 466/1B
    Entry number: 246

I have both of his marriages, both spouses still alive (1st Marriage 1943 to GMF, 2nd Marriage 1956 to YFT) and I have the details of each child born from each marriage.
I am particularly interested in finding his father, more about his mother, and his RAF Records -I am not sure where to access these
    Many thanks

If you look for birth registrations for Herbert Wright, 2nd quarter of 1922, there are only 5 listed
    Herbert Wright - Barnsley
    Herbert Wright - Huddersfield
    Herbert E V Wright - Hexham Cumberland
Herbert H Wright - West Ham
Herbert R Wright - West Ham

Looking at the Herbert H Wright in West Ham, it gives MMN as Mitchell.
There is a corresponding marriage in the same place in 1921 4th quarter
    Winifred E Mitchell / Herbert Wright W.Ham 4a 669

Oddly this same marriage seems to be recorded in 1922 1st quarter as well
    Winifred E Mitchell / Herbert Wright W Ham 4a 83

.. but seeing as you linked to the birth registration in the first post, presume you have this.

Buying the birth certificate is probably the way to go!

Do you think its the same marriage? One of them is transcribed as Herbert Bw but when you look at the actual register is says Herbert W - confused me a bit!

      Thanks Elaine

I was looking at it on freeBMD where there is no Bw.
I see that is how it has been transcribed on Ancestry - presume a typo error because if you look at the image it clearly says Herbert W Wright

For his service records you will need to apply to the Veterans UK website

Take a look at our Military Research page in the reference library - click here

In the section 1921 - present you will see a link to the Veterans site.
