  • Anyone have a Jack and Alice marriage c1922 at Coalville?

Just in case the following pic on ebay might be of interest, (taken by one of my rellies btw)

My sledging hammer lies declined, my bellows too have lost their wind
My fire's extinct, my forge decay'd, and in the dust my vice is laid

Using FreeBMD... Coalville was in Ashby-de-la-Zouche District at that time... There seems only one possibility - and that presumes that "Jack" is an affectionate version of "John":

    1922q4
    WILLIAMSON John W Wortley Ashby Z. 7a 260
    Wortley Alice Williamson Ashby Z. 7a 260

That would tally with the warm clothes they are all wearing. I think even the desire to show off one's furs would be bowled over by hot summer weather.

Or, I suppose it could be one of these:

    1921q4
    Simpson John W Brotherhood Ashby Z. 7a 281
    Brotherhood Alice Simpson Ashby Z. 7a 281
    &
    Thornton John Bate Ashby Z. 7a 323
Bate Alice B Thornton Ashby de la Zouch 7a 323

You need the algorithm that matches the reference with hte parish!

Otherwise - if the photo is dated well after the event -
    1921q1
    Cosgrove John Adams Ashby Z 7a 286
    Adams Alice G Cosgrove Ashby Z. 7a 286
    &
    Talbot John W Whyatt Ashby Z. 7a 286
    Whyatt Alice Talbot Ashby Z. 7a 286

There are a couple of Alice WORTLEY births registered in AdlZ: 1893q4 seems more likely than 1883q1.
      She's probably d/o John L (c 1872, Coalville) & Elizabeth (c1874 Swannington)

      There are:
      Alice BROTHERHOOD, b 1900q1. ~ prob d/o Thomas (c1861 Whitwick) & Eliza (c1862 Eaton Bray, Beds)
      Alice ADAMS b 1901q4
      Alice Marian ADAMS b 1904q3

Alice WHYATT b 1874q2 seems a bit elderly for that photo.

Also worth mentioning that it doesn't look like the B&G + parents, does it? More like B&G + siblings of one or other with spouses and children.
