I have just found an 1861 census of a distant cousin and his wife's name is brilliant. They came from a small village in Suffolk and moved up to Elton in Lancashire, and the way his wife's name has been written makes me chuckle because I can just imagine the accent they would of had. Her name was Louisa but they have written it down as Loweazer, and when you say it out loud you cant help but get a little Country Accent going!

Not just enumerators - in hubby's family there is a Clement Ezer - baptismal records record him as Clementina! I can only assume the Wolverhampton accent foxed the vicar...lol.Helen
