Cotton Yarn Gasser: de-fumigated raw cotton prior to use in the textile industry. Raw cotton from India was fumigated with methyl bromide to preserve it from pests.

Didn't really think it deciphered as rats, but being a country girl I have had the odd "rat catcher" climb into my tree, as it were.
(However, as far as I know, my rat catchers would have used dogs, sticks and traps, and not chemicals:D)
