  • Bound for Montreal

Transcribing can lead to pondering about "What happened to them"
Helen, daughter of James & Mary Ann Pearson is baptised in Liverpool 11/4/1836. Father's abode is quote "On board the ship 'Milo' in Brunswick Dock bound for Montreal." Occupation of father is that of Pensioner.
I wonder how they progressed and would a Pensioner in 1836 be similar to present day?

Could be he was an army pensioner and therefore still relatively young. Most people would not have been described as pensioner in those days - there was really no such thing, people worked until they couldn't and then their children supported them or they went on to parish relief or even the workhouse.

Cheers Margaret, an Army Pensioner would be very plausible.
