Canon MP600 Printer + Error U052

I seem to attract trouble at the moment and my latest headache is the message relayed on my printer:

'The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head'.

The printer is about five years old and has never given an ounce of trouble until this display. I haven't changed/altered/fiddled with anything, so I'm at a loss to know what to do.

Any bright ideas as to the cause and/or the solution gratefully accepted!

Gwyn, if you just put Canon MP600 + Error UO52 into Google you will come up with a number of hits.
You might find a solution there!

Thanks , Elaine - I've had OH here to look through, as I'm rather nervous if I have to fiddle around with things electrical. We've managed eventually, to find a manual, so he's kindly offered to see if he can clean the print-head
