This is the mystery
Daughter
Dottie HENDERSON born abt 1883 West Ham Essex

Cannot find a Birth or any records for a Dottie or Dorothy right time frame or area

1911 Parents say no children born or died ????

Must say the correct surname is KEEN ? dont know why he is using the surname Henderson

Also the other Hendersons with them are KEEN

I have traced them right through Jess with some help from Elaine , I have all The Hendersons on that page from Birth till their Deaths.
I also found out James owned The Haverhill Rope works .
Dont know why they would use a different surname yet ?

Could James have been married before and the child is his by that marriage? hence the note that no children born to this marriage.

There is this birth if the name is Henderson - maybe called Dottie as a nicknames to distinguish her from 'mother'

Could she have been a child to another woman - illegitimate? and then comes to live with father and his childless wife.

I did wonder where they got the Henderson name from ??? maybe the girl was the daughter of somebody they knew and as you say they took her in ? wonder what happened to her though?
