  • What kind of weaver?

I'm trying to read a 1727 baptism, and the record's statement runs from the residence (Holy Well Lane), into the father's occupation (???? Weaver) - at least, I think the ???? word modifies the occupation!

    Any guesses?

It nearly looks like TOWEL weaver but I really don't think that is right.
Whoever said Seek and Ye shall find was not a genealogist.

Looks like "ferrit weaver", and "ferret" was apparently a kind of silk tape:

Do you have the link Sarah please. I am pretty sure that the first letter is 'F' but without the whole context of the page it makes it rather awkward to compare the letters.

Usually we have Framework knitters, Ribbon Weavers, Fancy goods weavers

          ahh Mary...

I got as far as 'Ferril' but your suggestion looks more likely.

Sorry, I don't have a link, but it is on Ancestry. It's the baptism of George Coverly in 1727.

The silk makes sense - thank you all for the help
