No I havent yet done that Elaine, but I have couple of Canadian census records now for the same chap, with London City Ontario as the place!
it certainly confuses me :o

I think you're right the place is London City, Ontario - very confusing for us in the UK when places elsewhere are named after our own cities - you get it in USA where they always say 'Paris, France' - where else would it be???
Paris, Ontario? Yup, we've got one of those too! ;D
See, we've got the opposite problem. London is London, Ontario unless someone adds the tag England to the name. And of course, because we missed you folk so much when we came to this new land ... we named everyplace after the old home town. I just read a post about someone offering help to photograph cemeteries around Bedford. They likely didn't mean Bedford, Nova Scotia, right? Ah well, it's all part of the fun. Just think, at least you don't have to do it all in two official languages.
