    Hello

I have found a record on familysearch that I cannot find on ancestry.

How do I use the FS info to find it?

    Many thanks

    Debs

It may not be on Ancestry! What are you trying to find Debs?

Could you post the information you have Debs? It may be that ancestry have mistranscribed one or both names you are looking for

Ah Elaine see I think thats where I go wrong as I expect EVERYTHING to be on ancestry, and I do tend to forget that its not.

            Hi Debs,

As it is a Surrey baptism, the record is not on ancestry, quite alot of the london ones are

:o No worries Debs, I have been very lucky and found loads of my london lot. There are also quite alot of Liverpool, Lancashire ones now available, some of the catholic ones have saved me a fortune in certificates as they show the mothers maiden name and also the names of the godmother and godfather!!

So is there a way of finding it at all, or is it a visit to the Records Office?

LOL, I know it has been brilliant! especially one couple who didn't register the child as they weren't married BUT they baptised her so I got the mothers maiden name !!

I take it you want the birth registration to order the certificate Debs?

Well if you do I tried to look it up on Ancestry and the 1st page started at Qui what the hell happened to the Qua's??

The LMA records do include parts of Surrey - I know I have found a few around the Kingston and Richmond areas, and there are also some Walton on Thames registers on there - so always worth checking.

Sorry Debs, short for London Metropolitan Archives. Ancestry have a lot of parish registers from the LMA, and if you are lucky to find a post 1837 marriage entry then you get the marriage certificate as well!

Debs, this is a link to the LMA Births and Baptisms - http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec/?...d=0%3a7858%3a0
If you look at column on the right hand side of the page you will see the other type of records they have.
If you have London ancestors then you should find lots of useful stuff here.
