Following on from my thread re Joseph Brook Sanders, LangleySue helpfully found a passenger record for Mr Joseph B Sanders age 16 travelling to either Adelaide or Sydney from London. He arrived on 1st July 1883 on board the Cuzco.
The age is correct for mine, who was born in Fulham in 1867. He seems to be travelling alone, which would also be correct as his mother and sisters stayed in London, and most of his father's family emigrated to Canada (Ontario).
This is the first possible trace of him after the 1881 census, when he is in Cornwall with his aunt. Mary Ann Wise, and is an apprentice plumber.
His parents were Joseph Brook Sanders snr (brn Devon) and Lydia Seiffert (brn Germany).
Can anyone with access to Australian records please check for any other information on this man
Thankyou very much
Denise
