It looks like...and Hamlet of ??? This is a marriage parish entry 1814, in Stepney.

Hoping someone can read it better. I have tried darkening and lightening the image to see if that made it easier to read, but I am struggling!

Yes that would make sense. I did think they were maybe initials. Now, the groom was given the freedom of the city in 1816, the marriage was 1813. So I think then that M.E.O.T. is not his birthplace? Not sure about boundaries at this moment in time.

Sorry, first date for marriage I put 1814, but it was 1813.

I'd say it was MEOT (mile end old town) :smilee:
