You don't think he might have dropped the William do you and the e missed off the end? The reason I ask is because there is this death for an Albert Quartermain born 7th July 1919 died March 1992 - aged 72 - Wandsworth London - Volume 15 Page 1102 and I can't find a matching birth for him. Also, there is no image to check whether it should have an e on the end or not.Chrissie passed away in January 2020.

Just thought I'd pop in to tell you that you can discount Albert Quartermaine who died London 1966 as that was my Grandfather
who had changed his name to Quartermaine by deed poll.
My Dad was born in 1917 and he's still alive - not sure when your William Quartermaine was born.
Actually Debs I wonder if we may be searching the same line.
Grandad (previously Albert Edward Trigg) married an Eva Quartermaine, whom he had been living with for many years, in 1962 (that was her maiden name and by that time was his surname too)

Chriisie I was about to say that your theory was indeed possible as until I started doing this research no-one knew he was actually called William.
However Vals theory seems to blow all of that out if the water!
Val the names Trigg and Eva Q don't ring any bells but I will go off and have a look. Where was Eva born? There are so many branches to the Q's!

Not necessarily Debbs, Val's Albert was born much earlier than yours and died before 1992. The death I posted gave a birth date of 7th July 1919. It's only a possible to bear in mind though as it had been transcribed as Quartermain (without the e on the end).Chrissie passed away in January 2020.
