Does anyone know if the above has an archive going back to the 1820s? I've emailed the current editor, but it could be some time before he replies. I haven't got access to Gale.

I'm looking for references to Lockhart DOBBIE, who started and owned the only engineering works in Airdrie from about 1840 to 1855. He became a wealthy man and retired at the age of 52. He sold the business, as his only surviving son had become a minister. I haven't managed to find baptism records for any of his ten children, including my great-grandmother who was his youngest child.

Thanks Val, I hadn't seen that particular tree. It's seriously incomplete compared to what I have found out. That side of my family is heaving with Church of Scotland ministers of various flavours.
