  • Two marriages?

Of course not, but I'd like to understand what this means.

4 Aug 1731, Joyce Leeds married John Mason. There are two records of it on Ancestry, apparently different churches:

London Metropolitan Archives, St John Zachary, Transcript of marriages, 1721-1734, Guildhall: P69/JNZ/A/01/Ms 3701/39.

London Metropolitan Archives, St Anne and St Agnes, Transcript of marriages 1641/2 - 1774, P69/ANA/A/006/MS06766, Item 001.

SO - why the different records, different churches listed?

Nice, tho - the marriage was by license.

Also, I'm reviewing/re-entering my records. I just realized that the marriage that follows their marriage is on the same day, and the men have the same surname, tho different parishes. Also by license Hard to believe that's by chance.

I don't know if this helps but the first page of the register for St Anne and Agnes refers to a copy being made for safe keeping for the 'united' parishes of St Annes and Zachary.

Thanks, Chris, that's a good explanation.
