Blanch(e) isn't with her parents in 1871, but I haven't found her under the name McMillan, or a McMillan/Linscott marriage:

Are these the people you're looking for, Debs?
Here are Henry and Blanche in 1881; she's an actress and he's a vocalist:
She's knocked a few years off her age, probably because Henry was younger than her.Last edited by Mary from Italy; 27-03-12, 13:05.

I've checked the criminal registers on Ancestry and online newspapers, and haven't found anything about her crime. It's possible that she isn't your Blanch, as she says she's unmarried; there was at least one other girl of that name around if I remember rightly.
There are loads of references to Miss Blanch(e) Payne the actress in the newspapers:

On that site you can search for free, but you have to buy credits to view the actual cuttings.
You may also be able to get the Gale newspaper database free to view at home through your local library; it's worth phoning them to ask. There's some overlap between the two databases (Gale and British Library), but they aren't identical.
