  • Another Coverly

In 1822, in St James Paddington
    Elizabeth COVERLY married
    James MACDONALD
    both of the parish.

Her parents are [probably] Joseph & Harriot Coverly.

Can anyone find anything more about them (or her)?

    Thanks
    Sarah

I was thinking just yesterday that Britland was a nice, easy to pronounce (and write) name that was almost unique! My Mitchell & Thomas families aren't nearly so easy to distinguish.

Yes, that's why I assumed they had the same parents. I can't remember, but I think this is a wedding where witnesses may cross, too.

Have it now. CJ's groom, John Salter Andrews, is witness to Elizabeth's marriage; Elizabeth is witness to CJ's marriage

There are three CJ Coverlys running around middlesex in that time period. The eldest is the maiden aunt, d/o Roger de & Joyce Coverly. Rd & J C had two sons who each had daughters named CJ Coverly. One of them married Veale, the other Andrews.
