  • Priscilla Ward nee CHADBOURNE.. mystery..

I have been trying to locate this family, but, not having much luck at all.

    1891: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...ki1891&indiv=1
Source Citation: Class: RG12; Piece: 2674; Folio: 114; Page: 30; GSU roll: 6097784.

Priscilla & James marry in 1883 I have them on census upto 1891 then nothing.

through a new contact I have been told that Priscilla had another child, Eli Ward b. 1894 in Conisbrough, Yorks.

I cannot find him in the 1901 census, though, in the 1911 census he has been 'adopted' by the Beardsmore family. His name then appears as Eli Ward Beardsmore after the 1911 census, he dies in 1968 in Wakefield, Yorks.

I am in the process of looking for his siblings at the moment, but any assistance to find James Emmanuel Ward in 1901/1911 would be great thanks

Did Priscilla die in 1897 in Barnsley Julie? If so I take it that it's just James that we are looking for?

Eli is with the Beardsmores in 1901 as well - transcribed as Beadmore and Eli as Elia C Ward.

I don't know Chris.. I havent found a death for her, or, anything else aside from the census and her marriage to James @ Mary Mags,

my new contact seems to think that she dies sometime between 1891-1901 with Eli being 'adopted'..

to clarify, I am looking for James and his children as per 1891 census. I have already found George/Caroline (George and his brother William were born before the marriage)

If you search for Stephen Beadmore on Ancestry, I think you will find him.

No I havent got a birth ref for her Chris, she is VERY Elusive!! her age on the 1891 has been mistranscribed, I have added the correct YOB to it. (the image says 4yrs) but the transcript says 10..

I have seen a GERTRUDE NORAH WARD.. but, am not quite sure if this is one and the same..

Ohhhhhh how about Nora Sibylla Ward born Nottingham June 1898 (could have been earlier but not registered straight away). Oops, wishful thinkng - that would only have made her 3 though.
