  • Images not showing on Windows 7

I have a new laptop which came with Norton. I also have adblock running.

I've just discovered that the normal images are not showing on the Argos website. Small thumbnails of suggested alternative items do show. I don't seem to have the problem on any other shopping website eg Amazon, John Lewis, Tesco Direct.

Can anyone please suggest what setting I need to alter in Windows, Norton or Adblock?

not sure Jill, but you might have to 'allow' argos to your 'safe' sites within your firewall settings..

Thanks Julie, I'll give that a try - once I can work out how to do it!

Strange though as I haven't had to "allow" any of the other sites which are showing images without a problem.

Have you got the latest edition of Flash player? Check using Adobe approved site.

Thanks for the suggestion Bird of the South. I downloaded the latest version of Flash but, sadly, it hasn't made any difference.

I have discovered that I can see the images using IE, so I guess the problem must lie somewhere in my Firefox or Adblock settings.

If you havent sorted this you may need to reinstall Firefox.

              Thanks for the suggestion Harry.

I hadn't managed to find a solution but I see that in my latest version of Firefox, installed last week, the Argos images are showing again.

I shall give your suggestion a go if the problem recurs.

If this is a browser based issue (only on firefox) Theres a few settings you can check in you firefox browser, first thing would be to check Tools > Content and make sure the check box is ticked which says load images automatically. Make sure your privacy settings arent too strict either. If both of these fail, revert for Firefox settings to default. Hope this helps if the problem happens in future.

Thanks Josh. I've made a note of your advice in case I have problems with future firefox updates.
