  • Ancestry London Baps check needed - Thomas Coull

I'm just finishing typing up word docs on the Coulls, who members have helped me research. So, sorry if this is duplication, but could someone just check out the variations in sp of the surname for Thomas Coull which are on this Ancestry link for me.

He was probably born about 1796 in either London or Scotland (Edinburgh or Banffshire most likely areas). I have a possible bap in Dalmeny, nr Edinburgh with no father's name.

Father's name was Thomas (no middle name) and he was probably a qualified physician by time of son's birth. Never been able to find a marriage for this union.

Many thanks for having a look at the relevant ones for me, sp of Cole etc.

Sorry Julie...I just want to eliminate these on page of Ancestry given on link in 1st post as without subs, I cannot see dates:

      Thomas Cole Father: Thomas Cole

Thomas Cole Parents: Thomas Cole Mary Cole

      Thomas Coll Parents: Thomas Coll

and on the next page at the top:

England & Wales: Thomas Coal Father: Thomas Coal

Without subs, it doesn't indicate on them all whether Bap Marr or Burial.

      Sorry to be a nuisance...
      Liz

I'm afraid your link doesn't work properly - there are over 200,000 hits...

Which page did you start from to do the search?

Ist one Christening - birth date 2nd May 1973 - Father Thomas Cole, mother Mary. Maternal grandfather Abraham Easter - maternal grandmother Elizabeth.

Is that the sort of thing you want Liz? Or just marriages?

They all seem to be Christenings or baptisms Liz but the fathers occupations aren't listed. So how would I know which is the right one?

Thank you, Julie...I've now put them on the word doc and say I have checked the sp variations. Am polishing it all up to send to the direct descendant in New Zealand. Sorry to have been a nuisance.

Thanks Chrissie and Mary for looking at the thread - solved now.
