    Hi

I have a couple of generations with middle names of Everingham and also Antonio. They are obviously pretty important names as I have someone who's own name is not either of those two but his brothers' were and he has given those names to his own two sons. Because its not him handing down his own name im thinking that it must mean something. However im struggling to get any further back and so far cannot see either of those names emerging.

So far im stuck in or around London, however the surname is McCalla so im guessing at some point this is going to go either North or West of England. (Have also got a middle name of Kyrle. Any ideas of the origin of that name? (same family))
    Robyne

Name interests: Alderton, Osborne, Danslow, Hanley, Bowkett, Lakin, Elliott, Banner, Walters, Reed, Deighton, Sleight, Dungar ;)

I agree McCalla is most likely Irish or Scottish there are 50 people with this surname listed in the 1901 census for Ireland and they are mostly in County Down the 1901 for Scotland shows over 25,000 with that name!

I have a middle name in a great great great uncle in 1852 which lead me back to my 5x great grandmother's surname from 1760 and it has cropped up no where else in the family - not sure why it was used so long after!

Have you tried googling for the names and particularly Kyrle?

There's some trees on ancestry with this name Baroness Beaumont, Lady Catherine de Everingham here's the link to one http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/tree/218...19881781?ssrc=

The name Kyrle or Kirle is also shown in some trees.

Not much use looking for Antonio without any other identifying details.

names are usually important, have you thought this person may have been named for someone called everingham? for example, instead of thinking the middle name is the important bit : lavinia broff had a daughter lavinia broff brown. might be a similar situation?
