  • Restoration of scanned miniature paintings - is this a challenge too far?

A living descendant in New Zealand has sent me by e mail these scanned pics.

    Here is Thomas Coull:

    And his wife Emily:

As you can see, the scanning process has created a green light particularly on Emily's pic. Also the side circle framing her is cut off on the right hand side.

Is it possible to do anything with them? It is wonderful to have them even if nothing can be done.

He was born about 1796, she was born about 1810. Perhaps ones for our costume gallery?

Yes it will Liz, I know there are several members who do much better than I can. If they attempt the pictures, I'm sure they will look quite stunning.

A couple from me. Not very happy with these, but it's the best I can do at the moment.

Jen - like those frames...it is great what can be done.

Roy - thank you as well for your efforts.

Wendy - many thanks for yours too.

I am saving all of them and can decide later which ones will go on the Tribal Pages tree .

Niksmum - that must have taken a lot of work and I really appreciate it. I think you have kept their hair colouring well and yours will be the one I think that I will use.

Thank you to everyone who has attempted this. I think it is amazing what you can do.
