  • Batch numbers on the new family search

    Hi all

Using the new familysearch.org I have the batch no C01683-1 which just gives a place of birth address and just Birmingham Warwickshire as the baptism place. How do I find the church ?

It doesn't come up on that page - even after removing the dash: C016831

But googling does come up with some hits where the church is described simply as Birmingham, Warwick, England - which suggests that it would be the parish church of the original Birmingham. Would that be what is now the Cathedral? St Philip's.

The entries for batch number C01683-1 also show a film source number 502183, which according to the (old) IGI refers to Bishop's transcripts for St. Philip's Cathedral, Birmingham, 1715-1832.

        See here: Film search page

Using the new site....When you find the entry look for the film number and note it.
From the main page https://www.familysearch.org/ select 'Catalog' which will take you to https://www.familysearch.org/#form=catalog
From the drop down box select 'Film numbers', enter the number and select.

Just the same as Koromo's suggestion really but using just the new site
