  • Where to look for trial details

Can anyone suggest where to look (preferably on line) for a case of bigamy c1913/14. The man involved was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
    Thanks.
    Cath.

Have you tried the Old Bailey Online?

They only go to 1913, but bigamy cases appear on there.

A searchable online edition of the Proceedings of the Old Bailey, 1674-1913.

Thanks Caroline but the offence wasn't in London. Could have been Bury or Liverpool.

Yes that's what I thought too Julie but local paper isn't indexed and we don't know the exact date of trial - there a one year window! That's a lot of microfilm to look at.

This has prompted me to look again at my Bilger/Villiers saga http://www.familytreeforum.com/showt...light=villiers

No sign at the Old Bailey, but in 1911 Marie Bilger, single, b. Baden-Baden is living in Leyton, managing a tearoom for Miriam Shadwell.
