I would say the same - I have looked back about 10 pages to see if the words are repeated elsewhere but clearer, but didn't find anything.
Could it be Latin?herky
Researching - Trimmer (Farringdon), Noble & Taylor (Ross and Cromarty), Norris (Glasgow), McGilvray (Glasgow and Australia), Leck & Efford (Glasgow), Ferrett (Hampshire), Jenkins & Williams (Aberystwyth), Morton (Motherwell and Tipton), Barrowman (Glasgow), Lilley (Bromsgrove and Glasgow), Cresswell (England and Lanarkshire). Simpson, Morrow and Norris in Ireland. Thomas Price b c 1844 Scotland.

Thanks for that Val. But why would they put it next to just one name?
Still, far worse to have the ancestor on the next page a "bastard, said to be begotten by " and then the name is well and truly scribbled out. How maddening that would be!Last edited by Heather Positive Thinker; 21-11-11, 14:50.
