  • Ralph White born Fatfield, Co. Durham

I am trying to find the baptism and hopefully details of his parents of Ralph WHITE. From the Census it would appear he was born at Fatfield (or Harraton near Washington) in 1880.

Any help would be much appreciated please.

You have him in the 1881 census when he's living with g'mother Isabella White, and again in 1891 when he's living with g'mother Hannah Fletcher? Those are him both times?

Think we have a bit of a mystery. Further research this afternoon shows up that Ralph's father was a Thomas Fletcher and his mother Mary White. Their children were all called White because they did not marry until 1889 after the four children were born.

Was one of them already married? Perhaps the first spouse didn't die until about 1889.

Hello Christine, thank you for responding. Spoke to another family member this evening. No other marriages, its just that their parents were not keen on them getting married. Think I shall call it a day now. Dog tired and information is starting to bounce.

Dont you just love family history.
