does anyone have any experience in getting a death cert from toronto, ontario, canada? i have 2 relatives who are in the 1891 census, but not 1901. i have looked throughout the wiki, but i cannot find an index or figure out how to obtain the death certs at all?

They say on the Ontario site

"If you do not know the exact date of an event (birth, marriage or death), you may request a search. A search verifies that an event has taken place and has been registered with the province of Ontario. There is a $15.00 fee for each period of up to 5 years you request to have searched."

You probably need to look at this as well before you try to order anything http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/englis...e-records.aspx

Ontario death certificates are available from Ancestry (but you need to be a WW member). I obtained some certificates a couple of years ago from that
          source without any problems.

Surely it will always be cheaper to go direct to the register office??? can't believe ancestry do it for free. I know for UK certs they add on double what it actually cost by going direct.
