I hope somebody can help me on this ? have tried before but thought I'd have another go

Lydia ROSE marries in 1918 Mile End to
Albert Ernest COMLEY aged 56 a Food Packer Father Albert COMLEY a Grave Digger deceased.

says he is a Widower address 16 Nicholas Street

When she dies in 1953 it says Widow of Ernest COMLEY a Food packer

Cannot find his Birth or Death ,First Marriage, first Wifes Death or his Father either as a Grave Digger or not

any ideas thanks

There is an Ernest Comley, Ag labor in the 1881 census in Enfield, parents George & Mary
1901, Ernest Comley, Caretaker for district council, prob same person

must have been a large age difference between Ernest & Lydia?

Doesn't FMP allow you to search by name & occupation in the censuses except 1841?

thanks Judith it could be ? I was looking more in the Popular area as thats where his wife died in 1953 but of course she could have moved there after he died ?

yes Photo but I cannot find a Grave digger anywhere with Comley as the surname or a Food Packer either ??? or father and son together on any census ?

he was 56 she 45 that looks interesting a Care Taker ? maybe he dug Graves too? thanks Photo will look into that one

and I think that the occupation could also be called a 'Sexton' Val

Oh dear don't think this is the Ernest who married Lydia, as Ernest's wife Naomi as showing in 1901, didn't die until Q2 1934, aged 76 in Barnet district

unless of course Ernest lied and was still married? she wasn't lucky in life ,her babies father didn't turn up at the Church for their marriage.

But back to square one :( Probably, as they married in Mile End, and Lydia died in Poplar we should concentrate the search in that area.

Maybe this is your Ernest's death, though I don't know where the middle initial W comes from.
