  • 1851 look up needed: WILLIAM MILES LEONARD born 1828 London

My Ancestry subs have expired and would be grateful for this look up (and image sending if right one):

He was with his father in 1841 in London but not with him in 1851. He marries in 1853 so is probably single.

Bap 30/12/1827 St Martin in the Fields, London. From 1861 he lived in the City of London, working as a photographer.

It is on behalf of a neighbour whose tree I am just completing.

Mary from Italy is excused this one ...

There is a William Leonard b 1828 living with (probably SIL) Elizabeth Leonard W? and her children in Rebecca Court, Marylebone.
However he has no relationship to head or occupation given and tbh I think he could be 2 not 22? and therefore one of Elizabeth's children. He is last on list and the children run 10, 8, 6, 4.

Kat - He did have a sister called Elizabeth but she would have been unmarried.

Julie will mail you. I can't access the links provided as not got subs. Interesting if he was with Martha in 1851. Below is right marriage ref as in 1861 her sister is with them with name Oakley.

Marriage 1: Free BMD: 6/1853 St Saviour Vol 1d p40
Leonard William Miles + Martha Oakley

Ancestry London Marriage/IGI: search in both names – nil.

Thanks Julie...just checked the image and they are living in a household with the address on the previous page I think. If you have time, could you check it for me and send me that image.

                    Sorry to be a nuisance...

looks like st. saviours was on the boundary with surrey so might not be in ancestrys collection. ( I have just checked ancestry/southwarks list and st saviours isnt on it) so looks like it fell into Surrey.

Bless your cotton socks, Julie - what was I doing with my time before my neighbour's fam tree came into my life?

Oops crossed with yours about the marriage - that explains it.
