i have a transcript from brest, finistere, bretagne, france. the entry is a marriage in 1700. i cannot view the original.
"guillaume gaultier age de 25 ans, ne a bede evesche de st malo, practicien. notes concernant d'epoux lambezellec depuis 3 ans."
from this line, as i understand it, william is 25, b.1675 in bede (bedee in ill et villaine). at first i thought the rest of the first sentence meant he was living in st malo. but googling comes up with the word "évêché" instead of "evesche". and the results seem to point to 'diocese' or 'bishop'. am i to interpret he was from the diocese or bishopric of st malo?
the second sentence seems to point towards him living at lambezellec for the last 3 years?
so do i take it he was born in bedee, the diocese of st malo, and spent the last 3 years in lambezellec, in finistere, brittany?
