Obtaining a will brings more work with it! Have you ever seen someone continuing a legal matter after they are dead?
My gt gt grandfather, Robert Bryant, retired innkeeper, appointed Samuel Arthur Brain, Brewer, as his executor and trustee along with his solicitor and directs them to 'prosecute the appeal I have presented to the House of Lords in an Action brought by me against Wm Hancock & Co Ltd and do all acts and things therein which in their absolute discretion they may consider necessary at the expense of my estate.'
My research so far:
Robert had retired by 1881 census, giving his occupation as 'nothing'. No longer in a public house.
Hancock Brewery appears to have been founded in 1884 and Brain's beers in 1882. Samuel Arthur Brain, Robert's executor, was the founder of Brain’s Beers in Wales:
‘…founded in 1882 by Samuel Arthur Brain and his uncle Joseph Benjamin Brain, when, due to the owners' debts, they acquired the Old Brewery in Cardiff from Thomas Brothers.

Hancock Brewery was founded by William Hancock (father of Frank, Froude and William Hancock).
Current website: William Hancock's & Co Ltd The Brewery,
Crawshay StCardiffCF1 1TR.
Brewing started at this site in 1884.
The Parliamentary Archives have a Judicial section and you can go in person, which is not an option for me. Do you think I could write and ask if any information can be found about this Action?
