    hi,

    are there any passenger lists from ireland to england in the 1850s?

    i have a john jackson who maried agnes cross in 1854 antrim ireland, their 1st child (that i know of) was born in 1859 pittington durham uk. so they oobviously came to the uk in this 5yr gap.
    **no point asking the living for help as the dead are more helpful!!!**

    Short answer is no! Ireland was part of the UK in the 1850's and just as you have no travelling lists from Plymouth to London or anywhere else in the British Isles so you have no lists from Ireland to England.

      County Antrim is still part of the UK Amy along with the rest of Northern Ireland.

      Quite a lot of people from Antrim went over to Scotland (Larne to Strantraer is about only a short crossing) have you had a little look for them there at all..?? It is possible that they could have went Ireland to Scotland before heading south.

      Sorry just realised they only married in 1854... I was stupidly thinking you could check the 1851 census :o

        shaz - i did check the 1851 AFTER i had found the 1854 marriage! LOL!
