Can anyone throw any light on this mystery please?
I have Alice White with husband Walter John (b1855 St Luke, Mid'x) in 1911 with two daughters Rose Maud age 17 born Bethnal Green and Alice Jane age 7 born Bethnal Green. They say married 23 years with 2 children born and 2 still alive.
I have Walter John White in 1901 here http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...=&pid=17455562 saying he is single and the address is a common lodging house.
Can't find Alice White and daughter Rose anywhere together in 1901. Several possibilities for Rose on her own
The birth cert for Alice Jane shows mother's maiden name Emes but as it is handwritten it could be open to interpretation so I posted it it on here a while ago and we couldn't come up with much different.
I can't find a marriage for Walter and Alice at all. I also can't see Walter anywhere in 1891.
So in summary
1891 where are Walter and Alice as they supposedly married in 1888?
1901 where is Alice and daughter Rose b 1894?
Is there a marriage for Walter and Alice?
Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
