Don't know if you can follow it on a map by using the 1911 census.
This would seem to be the route the enumerator took
Brook House - Millham - Bridges Stone Mills - Ivy Cottage - The Knapp - Taperdine - Old School House - Cheapside - The Pound - Pound House - Blacksmith Cottage - New Inn .. etc.
Point B is Old School House, Alfrick
Point A is Bridges Stone Mill
- so presumably the house you are looking for is somewhere between the two, presuming of course that was the route the enumerator took!
OK Tapperdine is halfway between A and B on Elaine's link, the house to the south of line just where it kinks. I've confirmed it with an Ordnance Survey map 1973.

Thanks Elaine, your link is great. The date was 1861 and the house was owned by my 3 x gr. grandfather.Had tried googling it, but if it is still standing then it is possibly known by another name these days.
Phil that is fantastic, many many thanks. I managed to print out photo from your link then my computer shut down, so had evening meal before coming back on to thank you. Now I know where my 3 x gr. grandfather lived.
