    There is also an entry in the UK Probate Calendar

    ORRELL Ralph Barlow of Elaine Victoria Austalia died 20 September 1932 probate Melbourne to Walter Robert Rylah Solicitor, Effects 2298 pds 11s 8p in England. Sealed 13 June.

    THe 1931 Electoral Roll for Ballaraat shows his address as Elaine, grazier.

      Thanks very much for all the info. I had seen the Probate entry but not the Electoral Roll. I assume that grazier in Australia equates to Farmer in England.

        no trouble.
        Grazier is more specific than farmer - I think a farmer grows crops and animals, whereas a grazier only grazes animals - sheep and cattle.

        A quick look at the newspapers on-line (http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper) shows Ralph died after being thrown from his horse, and further notices show he married Grace Edith (who died 1947) and had two sons, Geoffrey and Walter.

            FARMER THROWN FROM HORSE
            GEELONG Wednesday. - Mr Ralph Barlow Orrell, aged 49 years, farrmer of Elaine was found deadon the roadway by his wife late last night. Orrell had set out on horseback for a neighbor's place about 1 mile distant for some medicine, and after some hours, his wife, concerned at his non return walked along the road when she discovere his body. It is believed he was thrown from his horse.

              The childrens names were
              Walter Barlow Orrell died 14/3/1939 aged 23 yrs.Walter was the youngest of the two boys.

              SHEPPARTON, Tuesday -Walter B Orrell, of Forest street, Sunshine, who was admitted to Mooroopna Base Hospital on August 28 suffering from a broken thigh, a broken arm, and injuires to the head, died in the hospital last night Orrell was riding a motor-cycle when it collided with a car near Murchison East

              Our old friend Miss Orrell of Elaine, Victoria, gave two silver memorial cups to be competed for each year, by the boys and girls of the Church. These cups are in memory of Ralph Barlow Orrell and Mary Ann Gribble— Miss Orrell's brother and the mother of tbe Chaplain of St. George's. Miss Orrell has undertaken to arrange for the engraving of the winners' names upon tbe cups each year. These cups are kept on brackets in the Church and are awarded for conduct and attendance at Holy Communion.
              Miss Orrell has again made a gift of a brass cross and two vases for the Lady Chapel Altar, this is to be a Memorial to her young nephew 'Walter Orrell' who passed away recently as a result of an accident May he rest in peace

                  The Sister in question is Marion Orrell and on Ancestry it shows Two entries for passages to Brisbane.
                  Could you tell me what the full details are.

                    Ancestry shows that Ralph Barlow Orrell married Grace Edith Pritchett in 1911 in Victoria.

Orrell Esq, Bolton England, to Edith Grace, youngest daughter of the late G Penrow Pritchett Esq and Mrs Pritchett "Warroon" Oakleigh. At home 27th and 28 th February, at Warroon.

                    ORRELL-HANCOCK.-On February 27, at St. Clement's Church, Elsternwick, by the Rev. H. Frewin. Annie Mona (Ann), fifth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hancock. Ballarat, to Geoffrey Penrose, elder son of the late Mr. R. B. Orrell and Mrs. Orrell, Moorilla, Elaine.

                          Ralph Orrell came to Australia aboard the ship AFRIC in 1904.

                          PS, I Just remembered, my 4xgreat grandmother, was Margaret Orrell born about 1770 and married George Beever in Manchester.
