  • Harriet Duguid missing on 1871 census

Harriet Lock b 1826 Brixton, Surrey married Robert Dugard b Scotland c 1819 on19 April 1851 at St Marylebone. Robert was an Engineer fitter.
They had a son James b 1858 and on 1871 census he is at Holly School in Hounslow Middx.
They are all together on 1861 census, RG9; Piece: 352; Folio: 29; Page:9

However I cannot find Robert or Harriet on 1871 census. Robert had probably died by then (cannot find a divorce) as Harriet married James Carter in Dec Qtr 1871. I don't have this cert which would tell me if she was a widow or not as she is not a direct ancestor but the sister of my 3x Gt Grandfather.

Can anyone find them on 1871 census and /or find Roberts death?

    Thanks
    Kat

Robert Irving Duguid was born and died same year :(
The other looks good. it's written Rob* in index . I have searched for Duguid in all combo's but not a Rob*.
      Thanks for that VAL.

As far as the 1871 census goes. Harriet married James Carter in Kendal in Dec Q 1871

i dont know if thats the right death in london, only the cert will help, but it seems they were on their way to scotland when he died, and she stayed for good. thats how i would read the info if it was my tree. do you have any reason as to why she was in kendal?
