From the London Family History Centre

In case you have not heard, our Family History Centre closed on 20 August because of refurbishment of the building on Exhibition Road. However, we are happy to report that we have found a wonderful temporary home as described below in a joint announcement from The National Archives and ourselves:

London Family History Centre services move temporarily to The National Archives in Kew

“From Tuesday 13 September, the London Family History Centre will temporarily relocate its services from South Kensington to The National Archives in Kew. This move is as a result of building refurbishment and will last several months. The National Archives’ reading room services will not be affected during this time.
Patrons of the London Family History Centre will be able to use the microfilm collection, which will also be temporarily located at Kew. Film ordering should be completed as usual at www.londonfhc.org, as should group research visits (which will be subject to confirmation of space availability at Kew). The Tuesday talks are planned to start in October, again depending on space availability.”

It is estimated that we will be back in Exhibition Road in 7-8 months, but the exact date will only be available nearer to the time of the project completion.
