Could someone do a quick railway search on Ancestry to see if there is anything on my grandfather.

Charles Edward Davis born Bermondsey 1921 although he always thought he was born 1922. He didn't realise though until he reached pension age and they told him he could have been claiming for a least a year already at that time lol.... They might have something on him but might not.

    Thanks.

    Hi Craig,

You'd need to know where he was living (e.g. where he got married) to get some idea of which company he worked for. I have one person who was born in Devon but by 1871 he was living in Kentish Town, London. I would guess he was working for the Midland railway, but I don't think their records are online yet.

Thanks Uncle John. My grandfather got married 1940 in Lewisham. I didn't think his records were online but maybe one day.
