robert thorne b.1854, bury st edmunds suffolk. chimney sweep. wife susan b.1863, strand london. sons james b.1882 covent garden london a coal porter and william b.1883, covent garden london a printers boy.
Susan should be his second wife cos his first wife died in 1884. I wondered about the address as his daughter Clara from first marriage got married a few months after the 1901 census was taken and said that 6 parker street was where she and her new husbands lived... so still gotta find them living somewhere okey dokey.
Either he divorced his first wife Amelia or he's a naughty boy as i've just looked at the boy's ages on the 1901 census who were born before amelia died.
lol..not the only scandal julie... the above is on my mothers mum's side.... there is another possible naughty boy on mothers dad's side too... i guess there was quite of that being done back in the 1800s.
I think the 1901 census was taken 31st March (so wikipedia says anyways). I have her marriage cert which she got married 21st July so only about 8 weeks after. But when the census was done i guess they weren't living there...it's funny though cos my great nan was a mystery for my mum for years (she died before my mum was born) i have since found her etc but i have only found her on 2 census so far and thats 1881 and 1911.
