  • Determined to crack something this week grrrrrrrr

If anybody has some free time would gladly swap look ups

I am getting nowhere lately ,so frustrating, so have decided to have another go at this lot have mentioned them before but only really want to Track 3 of the children now ,the rest of their siblings I have sorted thanks.

    Those dreaded Knights

    KNIGHT

EMILY born 30 Oct 1846 12 Mellick Place Bermondsey Baptised 15 Apr 1857 ? which I thought odd
Address 1 Johns Place, Grange Road, Bermondsey
Might have found her Burial in Southwark Workhouse 1870 Says on Burial Records taken out by her friends ? I take it this means she was buried elsewhere ?

WILLIAM JOHN born 7 Feb 1857 Bermondsey Baptised 15 Apr 1857 same as Emily

MARY CHARLOTTE born 2 Oct 1859 Southwark Baptised 6 Nov 1859
Address 1 Paragon Place, Grange Road ,Bermondsey

This is the 1851 Census which has Emily and her Parents ,cannot find them after that on any census ?

    Parents
George William Knight born 1815 Bermondsey a Currier
    Mary born 1818 St Martins

Given up trying to find them for now .

Any help at all would be great THANKS

Dont suppose any of your Knights are shoe makers or cordwainers, have just discovered, that my 3rd great grandfather on mums side was a William Knight (b abt 1800), its right part of the world as just about my mums family from that area.
    Think this is him
    Class: HO107; Piece: 1568; Folio: 222; Page: 15; GSU roll: 174802.

yes Julie am hoping if I can find them might narrow down my search for their parents ? a couple of my contacts have their Father George Willian died in 1855 but William John and Mary Charlotte were born after this date ??

Well Val - I think I might have found William John Knight in the 1911 census at 74 Alexandra Road Hornsey, with a wife Martha and daughter Muriel Doris. If this is the one, his wife's maiden name is Martha Townsend and they married in 1895. He has actually not done too badly in the world as he is a house painter contractor and his own boss.

Chris you are a sweetheart I am sure thats him going to get the marriage cert as it does not seem to be on Ancestry, I cant believe you have found him ? wonder where he was in earlier census records ? Going to look into them more now, as I have been looking mainly in Surrey as thats where they all seemed to stay.
                    Thanks so much

and thanks Moggie I am sure they are on the missing 1861 census bits ?
