  • where was she born?

I have Mary Ann Osborn, b. 1809 Nottinghamshire.

on her marriage 1830 (in the PRs) it gives her as being OTP of Radford, (even though she marries in Kirkby, which is praps 9 miles north of Radford)

    on the

    1841 it says POB Nottinghamshire.
    1851 it says Hoveringham, Notts
1861 we have Kirkby in Ashfield
    1871 we have Nottinghamshire
    1881 we have Basford
    1891 we have Sutton

where was she born? she marries William Brown, and resides most of her life in Kirkby (in Ashfield) Notts,

The witness names on the marriage dont help much at all, but they arent family names.. when I find the record I'll post the names.

any ideas folks on which place is her birth place?

hmmn that really doesnt help me that much does it? though I suppose I could cross ref the parents and see where they are living etc in 1841 cens, or try and pinpoint at least where the marys have gone.

I can't find the marriage copy that I have, am pretty sure that it was on one of the HD backups that I have lost, thinking about it that the witness' were a couple I am sure of it. but I can't remember their names, I think one was Elizabeth, though now I am going to have to goto the Library in the morning and check this out again..

Glen which Gulson was it again that married into the Oscrofts I think it was..

Don't forget freeREG for Notts baptisms. They certainly have Basford and Sutton in Ashfield, and there might be more info than on familysearch.

would you think that census nearer to the year of birth would be a more likely way of pinpointing the POB?

                              Mmm

Found something on a word doc from a search of the pilot site a while ago Julie.

A census return Joesph??? Goulson Brown, boarder in Derbyshire. I think it was the '61. If I find it again i'll add the details.
