Can someone possibly tell me how to unlock the filters and also how to use same please?

I have already looked at Britec's thread but can't see anything to help me out and I've fiddled and twiddled in photoshop till I'm blue in the face.......I am now beyond frustrated, so any real help would be so appreciated.

If anyone is interested, I am desperate to learn how to transfer images onto backgrounds. I have tried looking at the help set up but it is so convoluted and drawn out with so much to take in, I give up after a few paras.....as my brain won't take it all in....

What do you mean by unlocking filters?

Have you tried googling? There are loads of tutorials out there which will help.

Amazon have loads of books for beginners which might help.

Yes thanks Wendy, I've been googling and printed off some stuff which looks helpful. As re the filters, when I tried to apply them earlier, I got a message telling me they were locked....have no idea what it means or how it happened but will keep on twiddling. Thanks for the reply Wendy.
