  • How can I.........

move a file/folder from documents over to pictures with vista please?

it doesn't appear to give me an option to do this, except the other way around......from pictures to docs.

I've never tried it before Elaine, will it work on a full folder?

        Yes.
Set up a dummy one and try on that first.

You can also drag & drop the folder.

Wouldn't that be difficult Wendy....? never tried that either.......how would you get it from docs to pictures if you have to drag, on the side bar where the names of your folders are?

I have my folders open on my desktop so I can see them all. I don't use explorer as you seem to do.

If I double click on My Documents (which has a folder on my desktop) I get one folder open with all other folders in it.

That way I just drag the folder I want over to the other folder.

Ah right Wendy, we obviously work differently but that's a good idea. I may try your way when I have more time and see if it works any easier for me. Many thanks Wendy.

In fact, i may put a couple of folders on my desk top now and see how I manage.

Is Wendy's suggestion what is known as 'Multiple Windows?. I found this easy to use in days of old when I used XP but I have never managed 'Multiple Windows' easily in Vista. I find it a fiddle so must be doing something wrong.

I use Windows Explorer to move folders around.
